In January of 2021, eight year old Ivan Castellanos, beloved son of Yasmin and Jesus, and little brother to Yvette & Paulina, passed away after a courageous struggle with a cancerous brain tumor. Throughout his illness and even up to those difficult last months, Ivan stayed in school for as long as he could, and enjoyed every minute of his time with the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School Community.

He loved Pokemon, especially Pikachu, and his loyal and furriest friend – Chocolate Cake -who is pictured beside him. Ivan graced our lives with his innocence, creativity, and gentleness. He brought joy to each person he encountered and is our inspiration for leading a life with childlike curiosity, free of judgement, and full of love for others.

In honor of our angel, Ivan, and his family, we have established an ongoing scholarship fund for families who find themselves with medical needs. If you are able to offer your support, all donations to Forever in Our Hearts: Ivan Castellanos Memorial Scholarship are awarded to those St. Elizabeth Ann Seton families who find themselves with unexpected medical expenses and in need of support to maintain enrollment at our school.
