Inspired Moments:

Faith:

Our sixth graders were well-prepared for hosting the weekly Mass. Father Chris reminded our students and fellow parishioners that we should not be afraid. As Catholics, we can celebrate our mortality because we know of our eternal reward in heaven. Our examples in life are the saints that came before us. The Kindergarteners, first, and second graders dressed as their favorite saints and confirmed for us that we are all called to be saints as we celebrated All Saints Day.

Family:

This past week we shared many experiences enjoyed by our school families.

On Friday, the leadership students put on an amazing rally which features the fall sports teams and each class pitched in to display their talents. Fun was shared with students, staff, and parents. Congratulations to our Holy Spirit Award recipients, Mea, Abbigail, Lucia, Ellis, and Lorenzo for demonstrating Catholic spirit as leaders on their respective teams.

Also, on Friday, our parents hosted Fall parties for each of the classes. Thank you to all the parents who helped to make the afternoon a special time for our children.

Saturday was the Auction Kick-Off party planned by the Medinas and hosted by the Bozarths. With the theme announced, Mad Hatter, and auction projects planned, it is time to all get involved to support our students and our school!

On Sunday, our eighth graders served the Good Shepherd community by taking an active part in the Mass as lectors, altar servers, and ushers. The parish was pleased with their preparation and school pride. A special thanks to our preschool families who joined them in preparing hospitality for the congregation. The weather was beautiful, and fellowship was shared with members of many of our parish community. Thanks to our parents for allowing us to show our appreciation to all our church family.

Knowledge:

Together, we have been growing in our understanding of SchoolSpeak. Over the course of the trimester we have been consolidating the pages for ease of use. We appreciate the questions that have brought attention to inconsistencies in the format as seen by the users. Along the way, we have also enhanced the information on the report card. It is our hope that grades will be ready for upload and that the report cards will be coming home with your children on Thursday.

Service:

Last year we were able to support nursing students through their schooling by giving them practical knowledge in a school setting. We, once again, have nursing students volunteering at our school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, they will be working with students of various grades, teaching about health and nutrition.

Moments of Grace:

MondayCan you imagine what it felt like to leave the ark and be able to start to live on the land again?

TuesdayGod promised he will never destroy the earth again. How shall we hold up our end of that covenant?

Wednesday: Remember God’s love for you and all of God’s creatures on earth and in heaven.

ThursdayHow does Jesus Christ give us hope for a new peace-filled world?

FridayWho has helped you to have faith?

A special thank you to the parents who joined me this week for Community Coffee, your time and input.
